This film is about one locomotive – 35028 ‘Clan Line’, a member of the Oliver Bulleid’s ‘Merchant Navy’ Class for the Southern Railway. This locomotive is one of the best known on the modern-day steam locomotive scene, having worked since 1974 on most of the British Rail steam main lines.
The programme has been made with full approval and co-operation of the locomotive’s owners, The Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society Limted and is a tribute to their skills and efforts at presenting this magnificent manchine for the joy of the British public.
